Since June 2017 Marika Lulay is Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She was a Member of the Board at GFT Technologies AG from July 2002 to August 2015 and since August 2015 she is a Member of the Administrative Board at GFT Technologies SE. In her former role as Chief Operating Officer she assumed responsibility for the GFT core business and the key operational areas for 15 years. She is responsible for the areas strategy & business development, markets, communications, marketing, technology & innovation.
 
Biography

Marika Lulay brings more than 25 years of experience in the IT sector to GFT. In 1996 she led the entry into the German market of the American systems integrator Cambridge Technology Partners, her last position there being Vice President for Cen­tral and Northern Europe.
 
Before that, Marika Lulay held a variety of management posi­tions during her seven years at Software AG, including, amongst others, Regional Head of Professional Services. Before she moved to Software AG, Marika Lulay worked for a short period as a Management Consultant at Diebold Deutschland GmbH.
 
After her graduation, Marika Lulay was Founder Member and Associate of BISTEC GmbH, a software developer for the building industry. There she managed the R&D Team for CAD. Later on, BISTEC GmbH merged to BAUSOFT GmbH, where she was also Head of the R&D Team.

Marika Lulay studied Computer Sciences at the University of applied sciences of Darmstadt, where she graduated with a diploma.

Dr. Jochen Ruetz

Dr Jochen Ruetz served as a board member at GFT Technologies AG from 2003 to 2015 and has been a member of the administrative board at GFT Technologies SE since August 2015. He is responsible for finance, IT, human resources, legal, purchasing, audit, investor relations and mergers & acquisitions.
 
Biography
 
Before joining GFT in September 2003, Dr Jochen Ruetz served for three years as managing director of STRABAG BRVZ Bau-, Rechen- und Verwaltungszentrum GmbH, which brings together all of the commercial activities of the STRABAG Group.  In this position, his responsibilities included group and project management accounting, bookkeeping, information administration, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Before this, he was in charge of group management accounting at STRABAG AG. Dr Jochen Ruetz started his career in corporate development at Deutsche Bank AG in 1993.

Dr Jochen Ruetz completed a degree in business administration at the University of Regensburg in 1993. He went on to receive his doctorate in 1997 from Cologne University through a part-time study programme.

Marco Santos

Region Manager Latin America
 
Marco Santos is GFT's Region Manager for Latin America and is responsible for operations in Brazil.  He has a vast knowledge of digital strategies and exponential technologies for the financial market, combined with a deep understanding of the IT industry and other areas, including innovation, sales, delivery, marketing and general management. On January 1st 2020 he was appointed to the Group Executive Board.
 
Biography
 
With a career spanning more than 20 years in the Information Technology industry, since joining GFT in 2011, Marco’s main goals have been helping GFT's clients disrupt their businesses, creating a premium brand of IT services for banks and financial institutions, and expanding the company's operations within Latin America.
 
Prior to joining GFT, Marco held executive positions at multinational and national companies such as TATA Consultancy Services, Oracle, CPM Capgemini and Organic Inc.
 
Marco is passionate about encouraging others to keep up with all the innovations exponential technologies offer, and shares his knowledge through delivering lectures at companies and organisations such as Cubo Itaú, Santander, Serasa Experian, Banco do Brasil, Banco Original, and CEAP amongst others.

Marco has a degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), MBAs in International Trade and in Commerce and International Relations by FIA-USP, International Business Management by the University of Illinois, as well as specialisation courses at organisations such as MIT and Singularity University.

Joan-Carles Fonoll

Joan Carles Fonoll stepped up to be the Group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) in July 2018 and his appointment to the Group Executive Board followed on July 1st 2019. His career at GFT started in Spain when he joined in 2001 as a Project Manager. Today he is responsible for ensuring the execution of the Group’s strategy, delivering on key drivers such as agility, simplicity and accountability. In his former role as the Group Chief of Staff, he supported GFT’s CEO and his focus was on implementing group-wide strategic initiatives. Joan Carles also acted as liaison between the business units and group corporate services functions. This enabled him to gain in-depth knowledge of GFT and how the company enables clients’ digital transformation.
 
Biography
 
Joan Carles Fonoll’s track record of over 30 years in the technology business started when he was a developer at Siemens back in 1989. He moved on to EDS, where he worked a few years in Spain and also in Germany as a System Engineer, followed by roles as a consultant. He became part of the ‘’Deutsche Bank Group’’, where his focus was on leading projects. Joan Carles joined GFT Iberia Solutions in 2001. First as a project-, then as a delivery manager. In 2008 he moved to GFT USA in New York and was instrumental in establishing the North American business for GFT.  For two years he held the responsibility of GFT Group Chief of Staff, after which he stepped up to be the Group’s Chief Operating Officer, the role he holds today. On July 1st 2019 he was appointed to the Group Executive Board.
 
Joan Carles Fonoll studied at the University of Barcelona from 1985 to 1990 and graduated in computer science.

Christopher Ortiz

Christopher Ortiz is expanding GFT's global footprint into the Asian markets as part of his Region Manager APAC role. He is also responsible for Global Markets at GFT, where he assumes responsibility for GFT's largest, global account. On January 1st 2020 he was appointed to the Group Executive Board.
 
Biography
 
Christopher has been with GFT since 2001 and an Executive Director at GFT since 2011. After running GFT UK as Country Manager for 5 years, he stepped up to drive and align business development and delivery across GFT’s largest global accounts. Chris joined GFT Spain in 2001 from Deutsche Bank and has been integral to GFT’s expansion ever since.
 
Building on his 20+ years’ expertise in Capital Markets, he led GFT’s international expansion into the USA and contributed to the buildout of the Latin American business.
 
Prior to joining GFT, he was with Deutsche Bank New York after beginning his career at JP Morgan in both New York and London, working in Finance and Emerging Markets.
 
Chris has a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Cornell University as well as an MBA in IT and International Business from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, both in New York. Chris also is a graduate of the London Business School’s Senior Executive Programme.

Jens-Thorsten Rauer

Region Manager Central and Western Europe

Jens-Thorsten Rauer is new to GFT in 2020. As member of the Global Executive Board he is responsible for the Regions Central and Western Europe. His goal is to further develop these markets and drive growth and profitability in a sustainable manner across the two regions.
 
Biography

In his previous role, Jens-Thorsten was leading the DXC business with Banking and Capital Markets clients in North, Central and Eastern Europe. Based on his accountability for the operational sales and earnings results (P&L) he led the definition and implementation of respective go-to-market strategies and plans including the development and commercialisation of DXC’s Software and services portfolio for the banking and capital markets clients.
 
Jens-Thorsten previously served as Managing Director Financial Services, Central and Eastern Europe for HP and HP Enterprise, with P&L responsibility for the insurance and banking business in this region. In that role, he successfully drove profitable  revenue growth, returning the business to innovation and outcomes, whilst at the same time increasing client satisfaction. Prior to this he held several business and sales executive roles at IBM; earlier in his career he served as a Senior Vice President of Global Infrastructure and Run Services for Dresdner Bank, and following the acquisition through Allianz also in the wider Allianz/Dresdner Bank corporation.
 
Jens-Thorsten graduated from the European Business School with a Master of Business Administration and an MSc in Computer Science. He also earned an Executive MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, VA/USA along with the MBA degree of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main in Germany.
