Quebec City, May 6th, 2019 – GFT announces its expansion on Canadian soil, especially in Quebec City. With the acquisition of V-NEO in July 2018, a consulting firm specialising in the insurance sector, GFT Group is further strengthening its insurance expertise and capabilities. GFT Canada will create approximately 100 jobs to meet the growing demand.

Major investments in GFT’s Canadian facilities

Building on the success of the Centre of Excellence, GFT wanted to continue its growth by investing in the facilities and by expanding the Centre in a major way. Consequently, the Quebec City offices doubled in size to allow more professionals to work from the Centre of Excellence in Insurance. On April 10th, the official launch of GFT’s Canadian expansion took place in the newly expanded Quebec City offices. Several clients, professionals and partners took the opportunity to discover the new workspaces and learn more about the future aspirations of this GFT Group subsidiary.

Growth and job creation

The Centre of Excellence in Quebec City is an addition to GFT’s current digital innovation labs and increases remote project management capabilities and innovation initiatives. Alain Lamothe, General manager of GFT Canada, France and Belgium – Global Insurance said, “The addition of our Centre of Excellence in Insurance to the existing GFT labs will enhance our offering and add expertise to help Canadian and European insurers on their digital transformation journey. GFT’s Canada ambition is to become the global leading partner for insurers in their digital transformation in order to propel them into the future.”

To meet the demand related to the anticipated changes in the insurance sector, a massive wave of hiring is needed. Approximately 100 professionals will be invited to join the GFT team, 80 in Quebec City and 20 in Toronto. Some of these professionals may be assigned to work directly from our Quebec City Centre of Excellence in Insurance.
