Québec, 3 December 2021 – GFT, a consulting firm specializing in digital transformation in the finance and insurance sectors, has partnered with Université Laval's Faculty of Business Administration (FSA ULaval) to support students in developing expertise in information security governance.
The partnership agreement between GFT, which has a Centre of Excellence in Insurance in Québec, and the Université Laval institution of higher learning is for a period of five years. This new collaboration, based on the sharing of expertise and the transfer of knowledge, has given rise to the GFT Fund, in which $125,000 will be invested.
Doing More in Information Security Governance
The GFT Fund aims at supporting teaching and research in information security governance.
The funds invested will be used to promote excellence in research and to develop the Faculty's teaching activities, as well as to encourage the Faculty to be a key player in the dissemination of scientific knowledge and good professional practices.
On Thursday, December 2, the official launch of this fund was held in the presence of representatives of GFT and FSA ULaval. This event was held at the FSA ULaval in the GFT room, named in recognition of this collaboration. The unveiling of this room was done in the presence of Mr. Frank Pons, dean of FSA ULaval, Ms. Hager Khechine, full professor at the Department of Organizational Information Systems at FSA ULaval, Ms. Fabiola Lorng, director of Philanthropic Development at FSA ULaval, Mr. Carol Roy, vice-president, Centre of Excellence at GFT Canada, as well as Isabelle Pascot, vice-president North Shore at GFT Canada.
