GFT at Blockchain Technology: The Future for Financial Services Infrastructure Summit

GFT were proud to sponsor this weeks’ Blockchain Technology: The Future for Financial Services Infrastructure Summit in London. This City & Financial event in Canary Wharf, provided great insight towards addressing Blockchain technology from the user-led point of view and analysed its potential for the financial services industry.

The Co-Heads of GFT’s Blockchain Practice Nick Weisfeld and Julian Eyre, featured on a panel discussion entitled ‘Accelerating adoption in financial – centralised vs de-centralised business models’. The engaging debate offered interesting conclusions on open source, the role of consortiums and utilities and also golden records.

The debate coincided with last weeks’ GFT Blockchain Breakfast Briefing which took place on November 16th at the South Place Hotel in the heart of the City of London. Alongside Nick and Julian, the panel also included leading industry practitioners and pan-European financial innovators. Richard Crook, Head of Innovation Engineering at Royal Bank of Scotland and Adrian Poole, Head of Financial Services UK at Google Cloud Platform.

The event follows on from GFT’s collaboration with Google that allows GFT to deploy its distributed ledger test infrastructure for banks on Google’s Cloud Platform, helping global banking clients to simulate real-world distributed ledger models within a globally distributed and scalable test environment.
