GFT at Fleming Europe Collateral Management Conference

GFT had a substantial presence at the Fleming Europe 10th Annual Collateral Management conference in Amsterdam held last week. The two day event on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st October, took place at the Novotel Hotel in Amsterdam and is the most established Collateral Management Forum in Europe where topics such as margin rules for non-cleared OTC derivatives, streamlining of infrastructure, and central clearing took the spotlight this year, facilitating a broad discussion platform.

GFT collateral specialist Nick Nicholls spoke on a panel discussion titled ‘Comprehensive collateral management framework’. Nick was joined by other collateral experts, covering themes such as leveraging collateral transformation and implementing straight-through-processing across the management lifecycle. Other themes included the impact of un-cleared margin regulation, document management, the rise of utilities, pre-trade comparative collateral-adjusted pricing against post trade transfer pricing, operational risk, process efficiency, and triparty solutions.

Nick was also joined by GFT specialist Alec Nelson, who were both also discussing the release of GFT’s latest collateral management paper The Triparty OTC collateral conundrum – Getting our Religion?’

There was a great recognition among delegates that the collateral process runs across trading and support functions and impacts or is impacted by many areas of regulation. GFT will happily provide insight into addressing any subsequent challenges within your collateral process that may arise from those regulations.”
