GFT and Fidor present The Bank as a Service

GFT and Fidor present The Bank as a Service

GFT and Fidor Bank are delighted to be hosting a joint event taking place next week on Wednesday 18 April at 4:00pm. This exciting event at Techspace Shoreditch, London is a great opportunity to hear from two forward thinking Fintech organisations on the concept of ‘The Bank as a Service’.

GFT’s own Christian Ball will be leading a GFT presentation at 5:30pm entitled ‘Enabling the Bank as a Service’. The evening of networking and debate will include further discussions on topics such as Emerging Tech, business ecosystems leveraging on the cloud and the future of innovative banking.

APIs are transforming the banking industry like never before. They enable an ecosystem promoting fintech and bank collaboration while accelerating the creation of new business models to better serve consumers and businesses. Today, one can fulfil all financial needs from a single place but no more from a single source.

The bank of the future will be similar to an Apple store whereby multiple consumer-led offers and tools will be assembled and selected by the customer himself. The bank of the future will be the Bank as a Service. A bank where consumers can choose the mix of products and tools that appeal to them.

With APIs and new regulations, banks can open up and add value to their ecosystem through fintech partnerships. New players such as retailers, insurance, telecom and e-commerce organisations will intensively join the system by creating their own white-label bank, creating more stickiness with their customers while being part of their digital lifestyle as a whole.

With Open Banking here to stay, it is fast becoming a top priority for financial services organisations that want to stay competitive in terms of innovation and customer offerings.”
