- A retail bank needed a way of delivering push notifications to customers in a timely, contextual and personalised manner as part of its digitisation strategy
- The bank needed quick results garnered from an Agile delivery model, using scrum methodology to deliver a minimum viable product before advancing to a production version
- The solution had to be cloud-based, including all standard apps as well as some new custom ones, including Kafka and a CICD pipeline to allow for continuous integration

Push Notifications Platform
- Developed and deployed apps to simplify management and fully compliant with bank security policies - including HDF, Scylla DB, Vault, Consul, EKS (Amazon Kubernetes)
- 31 apps developed or configured - including Kafka-based data streaming apps, REST APIs, an API gateway, system integration with Amazon SNS, Rules Engine for data analysis and reporting app.
- Worked in sprints, organised across scrums and focused on business requirements and core platforms. All deliveries were prioritised and delivered according to an agreed schedule.
CICD Pipeline
- Jenkins applications built to Docker images with a streamlined deployment to Kubernetes
- Custom Builder Image created, leveraging GFT’s proprietary knowledge and expertise
- Full security build for CICD pipeline (authentication and authorisation)
- Transaction processing via AWS cloud, built on existing cloud infrastructure whilst adding renewed technology fundamentals
