‘I’m making my mark by delivering exceptional service, strong technical expertise and committed mentoring’

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family and four-year-old daughter. I exercise every day – as it helps to recharge me – and play football and run a couple of times a week. I also travel a couple of times a year to stay revitalised.

I joined GFT APAC in Hanoi as a Solution Architect in April 2022. Until then, I’d held a variety of technical roles in Vietnam, and also in Warsaw, Poland, where I studied and worked from 2005-2017. I was eventually lured back home by Vietnamese food and my family ties.
My team is responsible for developing and maintaining bancassurance* products for virtual bank, Trust Bank. We’ve successfully delivered a host of products for them, extending their business, engaging more customers, delighting all those customers, and so driving their profits.
(* Bancassurance is an arrangement where a bank gives insurance companies the ability to sell their products to the bank's client base)
The big challenge my team constantly faces is tight deadlines, and developing and releasing many features across multiple client teams. It means dividing everything into smaller milestones and meticulously tracking progress to ensure we follow the plan. Also, to minimise risk when we release new features, we deliver them incrementally as soon as possible, and then do pre- and post-mortem testing.

I’m especially proud of having received an ‘Exceeds’ rating in the GFT Yearly Performance Reviews, for 3 consecutive years: 2022, 2023 and 2024.
But, perhaps just as important, I’m passionate about supporting others to grow, and about building communities. For instance, I had the honor of mentoring participants in the Shecodes Hackathon 2023. This helped young women develop their career path which, for technology, is currently very limited across Asia. It was fascinating to hear all their innovative, impressive ideas for hackathon projects.

We’ve also built two tech communities at GFT APAC – the Backend Community and Digital Banking Community. These organise bi-weekly talks to improve people’s skills and promote best practices.
Mentoring, for me, isn’t just about guiding others—it’s also about evolving myself. It helps me stay curious, listen better, and understand people on a deeper level. Just like my journey from Hanoi to Warsaw and back, it’s a continuous path of growth. And that’s exactly the kind of mark I want to keep making—with GFT, and for those rising in tech across Asia.
