Near-Term Greenhouse Gas Emission Targets Approved by SBTi
We remain committed to addressing climate change, with targets aligned to the principles of the Paris Agreement.
GFT has set the following greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets for 2030, using 2020 as the base year:
- 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions
- 60% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity per euro of value added
The independent validation of emission targets by SBTi is an important signal to our stakeholders regarding minimizing risks in the value chains of our clients and in the portfolios of our investors.
Decarbonization
GFT developed and integrated a Scope 1 and 2 transition plan to align its decarbonization efforts with its corporate goals.
Key actions include:
- transitioning to 100% renewable and low carbon electricity by 2030
- reducing natural gas use through measures such as downsizing office space that relies on gas heating
- reducing diesel and petrol use by transitioning the vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric models
Progress against the Scope 1 and 2 transition plan is actively monitored through defined milestones, helping us track performance and address potential challenges. GFT is also advancing the automation of its carbon footprint calculation and monitoring processes, highlighting the important role of technology in ESG data management and reporting.
In parallel, GFT is further developing its approach to value-chain emissions.
