The Digital Innovation Lab in Barcelona is at the heart of GFT’s innovation landscape.

Bringing together the experience of our worldwide teams, it’s a place where you can explore demos and prototypes that simulate real-life environments. In this testing ground, you can explore how new technologies work in real business scenarios.

In the digital age you must collaborate to innovate. A successful digtal transformation requires the right blend of business, technology and culture. To promote co-creation we bring together customers, GFT experts, partners and specialist to offer you a dream-team for every project.

Whether in person or through virtual sessions, customers can choose between three Lab services:

  • Experience Lab: focus on innovation methodology, cultural transformation, experience design, customer journeys and design thinking.
  • Technology Lab: leverage the Lab to evaluate fintech/start-up integration, implement and test newly launched technologies, research technology for specific use cases and learn how to scale it. 
  • Business Lab: the full Lab experience focusing on a specific business topic and the technologies supporting it.

2024
  • The Lab expands its portfolio of applied AI experiences, encompassing intelligent banking services, extended reality solutions for Retail and specialized training, advanced inventory management, and visual inspection for industrial environments. We evolved the Smart Shopping Assistant with personalized virtual assistance in clothing stores and enhanced the photofloor with generative AI. We integrated hyper-realistic avatar creation for live streaming services
  • We pushed the boundaries of wearable technology experimentation, incorporating the AI Pin, an advanced iteration of the Neurosity crown, and new applications for Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
  • We celebrate a decade of innovation. Since 2014, our Lab has been the epicenter of tangible innovation at GFT, developing prototypes and experiences that bring cutting-edge technology applications to life in real business scenarios. This approach enables us to evaluate their efficiency and understand their technological and cultural implications.

We also integrated the Digital Asset Retail Toolkit (DART), which utilises blockchain technology in the retail sector.
  • We experimented with cutting-edge gadgets like Ray-Ban's SmartGlasses, Meta Quest 3, and Neurosity's crown.
  • We are expanding our spaces! We are revamping the retail space to include a Consumer & Goods area.

  • The Lab incorporates new devices, including a 3D hologram projector, and other experiences around the GFT metaverse.
