David Field to speak at ISLA conference this month

The 'Annual Securities Finance and Collateral Management conference’ is now into its 23rd year and will be taking place in Berlin, between 17th and 19th June. This will be a fantastic opportunity to engage with the most pressing issues in the industry, catch up with old colleagues and take part in polls and discussion groups.

On the morning of Thursday 19th June David Field (Senior Executive and Specialist in Clearing and Collateral Management, GFT) will be speaking at the 23rd ISLA 'Annual Securities Finance and Collateral Management conference'. David will be leading a panel discussion entitled 'Chasing Collateral – Practical or Impractical’.

The discussion will explore:

  • The impact of the move to central clearing and mandatory margining for derivatives
  • The key factors to consider in potential additional collateral requirements resulting from new margining requirements
  • The possible shift of collateral forms in an environment of increasingly scarce collateral

The conference falls at an opportune moment, between the passing of the February trade reporting and the impending collateral reporting deadline on 12th August, which is a cause for concern for the vast majority of market participants. David is looking forward to hearing more about the specific challenges that firms are currently facing and discussing the ways in which GFT can help.
